Fisheries Innovation, Demonstration and Transformation Centre (FIDTEC) acts as a technical support centre for extension services with the function of improving technical skills for the target group as well as department staff. FIDTEC also plays a role in supporting the growth of the fisheries support industry (ISP) by improving human capital skills, technical guidance, Transfer of Technology (ToT) and the proliferation of minds through the creation of the latest innovations in line with current developments. Specialization field for each FIDTEC helps the local industry in obtaining professional services related to the fisheries projects carried out.
